Quebec doctor pay reform bill draws heated criticism from medical experts

Quebec’s proposed reform to link physician compensation with performance has triggered robust pushback among family doctors. Critics warn that the measure risks compromising patient care and could strain an already overburdened healthcare system, sparking urgent debates and protests among the medical community.

Christian Dubé affronte le tir groupé des médecins qui s’opposent à ce qu’une partie de leur rémunération soit liée à leur performance. Les visées du gouvernement sont irréalistes, ne tiennent pas compte de la réalité et risquent au contraire de nuire à l’accès, ont-ils pesté.
L’approche de Québec favoriserait selon lui la quantité de consultations au détriment de la qualité des soins prodigués.
