Early Friday morning, Newark’s air traffic control experienced a 90‐second radar outage—the second in two weeks. The glitch led to widespread flight delays and cancellations, reigniting concerns over system reliability at one of the nation’s busiest hubs.
The FAA said the telecommunications outage impacted communications and radar displays around 3:55 a.m. ET on Friday and lasted approximately 90 seconds.
