In eastern Manitoba’s Lac du Bonnet, intense wildfires have devastated communities—destroying 28 homes and cottages and causing two fatalities—while mandatory evacuations remain in effect. Despite a brief, somewhat indifferent bout of rain offering scant relief, crews continue their uphill battle against a fire that refuses to take a day off.
